Nachi-Fujikoshi was founded in 1928 by Kohki Imura in Toyoma Japan with the purpose of producing steel alloys and cutting tools. In 1939 Nachi-Fujikoshi began to produce bearings using their extensive know-how about steel. Nachi is not only a producer of machinery equipment but also a technology developer. By this quality Nachi was able to be the first company to produce spherical roller bearings by 1941 locally even though it is not the first Japanese bearing company. With these qualities Nachi placed itself among market leaders in bearing business. To be able to enhance their international operations Nachi moved its head quarters to Tokyo in 1956.
